सार

This paper examines how social media can support leadership development in schools by strengthening communication, collaboration, professional learning, stakeholder engagement, and institutional visibility. It reviews relevant leadership perspectives, including transformational, transactional, and distributed leadership, and explains how digital platforms can extend these practices within school communities. The discussion highlights the role of social media in connecting administrators, teachers, parents, students, and external experts, while also enabling resource sharing, networking, advocacy, and continuous professional development. At the same time, the paper identifies major challenges, including cyberbullying, misinformation, privacy concerns, unequal digital access, reputational risks, and inadequate policy guidance. It argues that effective use requires clear institutional policies, ethical awareness, digital competence, ongoing training, and responsible online behaviour. The paper concludes that, when strategically managed, social media can enhance collaborative leadership, support informed decision-making, promote innovation, and help school leaders respond effectively to the demands of contemporary education systems and changing contexts.
