Peer Review Process

The Academic Matrix International Journal follows a fair, confidential, transparent, and systematic peer-review process to ensure the academic quality, originality, relevance, and integrity of all published manuscripts. Every submission is evaluated according to its scholarly merit and contribution to the relevant field of study.

1. Submission of Manuscript

Authors must submit their manuscripts through the journal’s online submission system. The submitted manuscript should be original, unpublished, properly formatted, and prepared according to the journal’s author guidelines. Submission does not guarantee acceptance or publication.

2. Initial Editorial Screening

After submission, the editorial team conducts an initial screening to examine the manuscript’s relevance to the journal’s scope, overall quality, structure, originality, language, ethical compliance, plagiarism level, and adherence to submission requirements. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s basic standards may be returned to the authors or declined without external review.

3. Assignment to Reviewers

Manuscripts that successfully pass the initial screening are assigned to qualified reviewers with relevant academic expertise. Reviewers are selected on the basis of their subject knowledge, research experience, impartiality, availability, and absence of any conflict of interest.

4. Review Model

The journal normally follows a double-blind peer-review process. Under this system, the identities of the authors are not disclosed to the reviewers, and the identities of the reviewers are not disclosed to the authors. This process helps reduce bias and supports an objective evaluation of the manuscript.

5. Evaluation Criteria

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts on the basis of the following criteria:

  • Originality and significance of the research
  • Relevance to the journal’s aim and scope
  • Clarity of the research objectives or questions
  • Appropriateness of the research methodology
  • Accuracy and reliability of the data and analysis
  • Quality of the literature review
  • Logical presentation of results and discussion
  • Validity of the conclusions and recommendations
  • Quality and accuracy of citations and references
  • Compliance with ethical and academic standards

6. Reviewers’ Recommendations

After evaluating the manuscript, reviewers may recommend one of the following decisions:

  • Accept without revision
  • Accept with minor revisions
  • Major revisions required
  • Resubmit for further review
  • Not suitable for publication

7. Revision by Authors

When revisions are required, the authors receive the reviewers’ comments and are requested to submit a revised manuscript within the specified period. Authors should respond to each comment carefully and provide a separate response document explaining the revisions made. Any recommendation not followed should be supported by a clear academic justification.

8. Re-evaluation of the Manuscript

A revised manuscript may be examined by the editorial team or returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation. Additional revisions may be requested when necessary. The review process continues until the manuscript meets the journal’s academic and ethical standards or is found unsuitable for publication.

9. Final Editorial Decision

The final decision regarding acceptance, revision, or non-acceptance is made by the Editor-in-Chief or the authorized editorial team after considering the reviewers’ reports, the authors’ responses, and the overall quality of the manuscript. Reviewers provide recommendations, but the final publication decision remains with the journal.

10. Confidentiality

All manuscripts, review reports, author responses, and editorial communications are treated as confidential. Reviewers and editors must not disclose, copy, distribute, or use unpublished information from a submitted manuscript for personal, academic, or professional advantage.

11. Conflict of Interest

Editors and reviewers must disclose any financial, institutional, professional, academic, or personal conflict of interest that may affect their impartiality. A reviewer should decline the review assignment when an objective and independent evaluation is not possible.

12. Ethical Concerns

Reviewers should immediately inform the editor if they identify suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabricated or falsified data, unethical research practices, improper citations, authorship concerns, or substantial similarity with another published work.

13. Publication after Acceptance

After final acceptance, the manuscript proceeds to editing, formatting, proofreading, and publication. Authors may be asked to review the final proof before publication. The Academic Matrix International Journal is committed to completing the peer-review process fairly, efficiently, and without unnecessary delay while maintaining high standards of scholarly publishing.
